Track Record
Dr. Selden has had the privilege of working with a number of today's
most successful organizations, including such fine companies as GE and
Frito-Lay, and has played a hands-on role in notable success stories. We
strive to bring the practical experience we have gained into all of the
programs we offer.
Consumer Packaged Goods
Helped a well-known snack food company develop a sales training program
for 10,000 route sales representatives and 100 national account
managers. We used a process mapping approach to identify critical areas
and increase the consistent use of selling, troubleshooting, and problem
prevention skills. Result: market share increased dramatically; major
competing brand withdrew from market.
Electrical Manufacturer
Trained an international provider of electrical equipment used in homes
and large commercial buildings to use advanced sales process engineering
techniques such as statistical process control (SPC) and cause-effect
mapping to trace and remove reasons for under-performing regions.
Result: nearly $135 million in increased sales, in one year.
International Conglomerate
Developed an audience-appropriate version of Six Sigma Green Belt
program for an early adopter of Six Sigma. Result: a noticeable (and
statistically significant) increase in course ratings and acceptance of
the new approach versus "off the shelf" baseline version.
Advertising
Worked with a NYSE-listed advertising firm to use empirical approaches
to locate and remove tangible factors causing them to be treated as a
commodity-level provider by their major clients. Result: using the
improved approaches, sales for the group met annual goals within the
first eight months of the year; the firm now participates in their
clients’ strategic planning meetings on a regular basis and sells more
than ten times the number of fully integrated ad campaigns as in prior
years.
